Localising MediaWiki

MediaWiki is the software that runs OmegaWiki, Wiktionary, This wiki, Commons]]... and Wikipedia. It is localised in many languages but the quality of these localisation is often not good enough. BetaWiki is the focus of the MediaWiki localisation this is a really active project and it does great work, including the localisation of extensions and the standardisation of extensions to make them conform to the best practices.

Together with the fine people of BetaWiki and with the funding of Hivos in our project Wikipedia IGNITE we offer a bounty for finishing the localisation of MediaWiki. In this way MediaWiki will become more usable, like the great open source software that it is, by other people and organisations.
