OmegaT: Analysis of texts to be translated
From Open Progress
When you do a translation of a manual or any other text that was already translated once and that needs to be updated it makes sense to understand how much has effectively changed, since this will allow you to calculate delivery times etc. easier. Therefore we proposed the inclusion of a text analysis function in OmegaT which tells you how many words in how many sentences are 100% matches and therefore are the same, how many are 90% matches and need some editing etc. and how many are completely new. The percentages should be editable - this means: the translator, according to the project he is working on, can say how these percentages should be - sometimes 95% makes more sense than 90 etc.
[edit] Development cost
The development costs include all costs, also the overhead for Open Progress, needed for the handling of the payments, invoices, receipts etc.
To develop this feature we need EUR 300,--.
In case the incoming amount is higher than the needed amount, the remaining money will be used for an additional feature, the localization or simply be kept for OmegaT's future development (if sometimes an amount cannot be reached).
[edit] Donations for this project
All donations are listed here - who donates can also choose to remain anonymous, but then the incoming amount needs to be certified by Open Progress.
Papal payments will available soon, for now donations should go directly to our bank account.
- EUR 50,-- by Sabine Cretella (payment received)
- EUR 15,-- by Michele Giuliani (payment received)
- EUR 30,-- by Kipcool (payment received)
Total amount so far: EUR 95,--
Still needed: EUR 205,--
