[edit] Comments on: Donations, putting your money where your mouth is

I didn't want to edit the page myself without express consent.

Who wants to influence spending
  • People not having the ability to participate, but support our cause with their wealth.
  • Philantropic sponsors looking for a project that helps to make our world a better place to live in.
how do we get our money
  • We can save expenses, when people or organizations support us by allowing, or delegating, their employees to do some work that supports us.
  • We can get reintegration grants when hiring telecommuters away from the dole queue. (At least in Germany, at least for specific persons, don't know yet, wether or not employer needs to be located in Germany, shall find out)
How to use small contributions
  • The need for approval has everything to do with legal and fiscal aspects.
  • The need for approval has both to do with legal and fiscal aspects.

I don't understand everything here.

What to do with projects that do not qualify as tax-deductible
  • We may find a legislation where it is, and open a legal branch there that receives this money. Provided, the cost of setup and maintainance justify it.
Why we need to be open to money issues

Last sentencte is imho off-topic.

  • To better deal with an oversubscribed projects money, we could allow a "2nd choice" earmark, or even list of arbitrary length, of course always with "make me happy" at the end.

Suggested addition: Being open about touchy issues such as money, being accountable for what we do, we hope to be attractive for potential sponsors. --Purodha Blissenbach 19:10, 24 January 2007 (CET)

[edit] OmegaWiki comission vs. comittee

Is there a difference between OmegaWiki committee, and OmegaWiki comission? The're both mentioned towards the end on page OmegaWiki, one as a headline, the other as a link, or blog link. --Purodha Blissenbach 00:18, 1 February 2007 (CET)

No, I have my terminology wrong .. sorry :( GerardM 00:25, 1 February 2007 (CET)
